West Somerset District : locations de vacances dans des gîtes à la ferme

We needed somewhere to stay for a really close family funeral of my childrens father. . It was also half term and we now live 260 miles away from West Dorset where we used to live. We needed somewhere we could reflect quietly, be close to nature, be close to the town for friends and a work visit. The house is beautiful, clean, thoughtfully stocked and private eirhout feeling isolate. communication was great and we would highly recommend. Thanks!

Amanda and Phil are such lovely hosts. The Old Milk Parlour is lovely and cosy and looks just like the photos it’s like a home away from home. Everything felt lovely and clean and there is a lot about the history of building and that makes it special as well. There is so much to do in the local area, loads of lovely walks, Kilver Court is close as are lots of other RHS spots. They have kindly compiled a list of things too if you’re ever stuck. Everything was truly amazing. As others have said you do share the car park with another house across but it’s still nice and quiet despite that. Also I forgot something and they kindly mailed it back to me which was the sweetest thing 🥺 Would definitely stay again!

Had a great time at Owl Barn. Much bigger than in the photos and lovely views from almost all windows. Plenty of games for our children. Very comfy beds. Really good-sized kitchen. Super convenient for many locations, even the hospital in Barnstaple which we had to visit twice during our stay! Pizza night was lovely. The outdoor games for the children were just what we were after. Alex was very helpful, including with some things that had nothing to do with her role as a host - very much appreciated.

A perfect location for our short break in Somerset with 2 dogs. The villa is quirky, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Lots of space for families with a beautiful garden, sun room and great kitchen. Lovely walks nearby and we walked to the local restaurant the first evening for a takeaway. Took a total of 8 mins there and back! A great base for visiting the Mendips, Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and Blagdon. A stones throw from Wookey Hole also, although we didn’t visit this time. I would really recommend this beautiful place. If you want to either kick back and relax, or walk and walk and walk - then this is the place for you. Thank you so much. We’d love to return if you’ll have us!

The whole cottage was lovely and had everything that we could need. The use of garden and the kids toys, books and dvds were a great touch and our toddler also absolutely loved meeting the chickens! I would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area again, and Jo was also very proactive and responsive with messages. Absolutely stress free stay!

Our first proper visit to Dartmoor was a great experience, largely thanks to the comforts of Francesca’s beautiful barn. It is “in the middle of nowhere” yet only just down the road really from a pub and shop. The location offers a perfect place to explore the local area. The kitchen and living areas are spacious and the bedrooms were comfortable. It is well laid out as part of three houses together and offers considerable privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the milking parlour, Lovely little place to stay. Very clean, peaceful and has everything you need there. They provided a lovely little welcome pack on arrival and there was milk in the fridge, bonus! Especially after a long drive and all you’re fancying is a cuppa! I have booked to stay for the extra days I need to work away. Fab place! Jo & Trevor are quick at replying too. There are some nice pubs around too, and you aren’t too far from Yeovil! Thank you guys, can’t wait to come back! 😊

The surroundings were lovely and a large enclosed garden was great for the dog and our 3 children. we had many a happy night in the hot tub. Lots of things for the kids to play with. We drove to all the local beaches would say most things are within an hour's drive and would recommend watermouth castle as a day out if you have kids!

We would highly suggest this lodge to anyone looking for a quiet get-away for the weekend. We loved our stay here and hopefully have the opportunity to come back!

The Pig House was a delight to stay in, and Cat was a very helpful host - she gave very clear instructions which made it super easy to find the property, and was clean and well thought out. A lovely welcome pack was provided even for a last-minute booking, and this was the perfect place to unwind for the weekend, with lots of things within half an hour of the property. The under-floor heating was very effective and we also enjoyed the log burner on a very rainy Sunday!

Claire was the most amazing host from start to finish, all the beautiful touches in the shepherds hut were just so well designed and thought out, including a lovely bottle of fizz. The hot tub was all lit and ready for us to get in as soon as we arrived., we visited a couple of the local pubs which were absolutely delightful serving beautiful food. I totally recommend the Plough and the Hood inn, both only a couple of minutes away. The location of the Shepherds hut was just perfect far enough out of the way it was so peaceful and quiet but close enough to only be 20 minutes away from the M5. We have recommended this to a few of our friends and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for making the stay so perfect.

What a beautiful property. The location is fantastic to explore the countryside for miles! The views from the cart barn are amazing! The cart barn was warm all the time during a cold week. Our dogs loved the stay, the hosts were extremely dog friendly! Private garden was great for the dogs to wander round. The hot tub was lovely and private with only sheep bleating and cows mooing to hear! A lovely rural location with hardly any traffic at all but in only 15 minutes you can be in a lovely town with everything you need. Local milk and butter to arrive to was lovely we revisited the dairy for fresh milk multiple times! Would absolutely recommend to everyone!

We had a lovely few days exploring an area of Somerset we hadn't visited before. The Potting Shed was perfectly located for the things we like to do without having to drive very far at all; walks from the accommodation, a couple of NTproperties within a few miles and several pubs along the way. The Potting Shed was spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. The tennis court was amazing and floodlit too so no excuses for bad light stopping play! Tamzin was lovely and on hand if we needed any help. We would recommend.

We were looking for a short break in a place that was baby and dog friendly, Laurel Cottage was absolutely spot on. The accommodation was great, clearly a lot of thought had gone into it by the owners (generous welcome hamper, helpful instructions, recommendations, map of the area, highchair, dog treats etc) we just felt very at home in the property. The place was peaceful and clean, we loved the kitchen, the outside area and the rainforest shower. Lots of walks on the doorstep which is exactly what we wanted and some great pubs for lunches and refreshments. 100% would book again. Thanks to Paul and co 👍

This was the second I visited Tracy's place but this time I went with my friends and their children. It was the perfect place for us to get together, with 8 adults, 5 children all under the age of 3! The children loved the indoor and outdoor toys as well as the space for them to burn off the energy. Tracy was an exemplary host who was very responsive, even before arrival she as very attentive. The children loved the trampoline and treehouse and when it came to home time we had tears because they didn't want to leave such a great place. Thank you again, we cannot wait to visit again in the future!

As a family with 2 young children and a dog, we wanted something for everyone. During the day we went for walks in the surrounding fields, we had BBQs and enjoyed the Hot Tub while gazing at the stars at night. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Thanks Gill, we'll definitely be back again!

Absolutely stunning place to stay, beautiful location, very peaceful, the cottage is finished to a high standard, fully equipped kitchen. I will definitely be returning next time I’m in the area. Unfortunately I was on a work trip and didn’t get to explore locally, but would love to return for a peaceful escape with my family.

My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time at the barn. The location was beautiful, with plenty of scenic walks nearby. What really stood out was the homemade jam, it was delicious! The bed was extremely comfy, and the skylights were another highlight. Michael and Caroline were extremely helpful and friendly, great hosts overall. No complaints whatsoever. If there were any, it’d be that the pictures of the barn don’t do it justice! Absolutely beautiful in person. Would recommend!!!

We had an amazing time with family. Once kids went sleep a quality time with my husband. Definitely recommend ❤️ I just hope that we will come back there very soon

We loved our short break. Everything you needed, comfortable, spotlessly clean & all kitchen equipment I wanted plus fresh eggs, milk, butter, bread, jams & cereals. Very soft bed linen & cofortable bed. Our dog was very relaxed there too. Beautiful area to explore. Definitely visit again.
