Fantastic place to get away with my partner

Booked fairly late but were so pleased we did. Perfect location for what we were doing and so close to lovely beaches in the area. Property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Would definitely recommend and return in the future.

The kids and I had the best time! Having the sea and beach on our doorstep was incredible. Fossil hunting, fishing, walks, amusements, great food and a very cute little cabin to call our home for 3 days. Waking up and seeing the sea every morning was the icing on the cake. Thank you Neil & Sarah for letting us enjoy some of the magic. We very much hope to be back soon.

We had a fantastic time staying at James and Emma’s. Whilst the location is tucked away off the normal path, their clear instructions made it easy to find. Their restaurant recommendations were also great and meant we found some real gems that we wouldn’t have otherwise known about. We would love to stay again if we were ever back in the area.

We went to Broad chalk for an evening away to do some long distance running around the countryside. The village is wonderful and the walks and runs in the surrounding area are challenging with spectacular landscape and really good trails. The village had a brilliant pub and community shop and coffee shop/cafe. Our stay was very enjoyable and the room was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had a really good amenities and the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom had a lovely hot shower after a long run! Beautiful garden.

Second time staying here, but we use the place as a base for visiting family so we can't easily comment on the tourist side of the location but from our point of view the location is situated in a beautiful part of somerset. Your not far from many locations and the area is very popular with cyclists, paddle boarders and dog walkers. Julie's place itself is spot less and the kids love it, I would like to apologise to Julie if the kids got too noisy enjoying the flat. They find it very comfortable and with young kids any changes in environment is always a challenge as it could affect their sleep. No problems here, plenty of space and comfort. Happy kids = happy parents. Happily recommend this place again and we will stay again if available/when we need it. Thank you

Lovely little cottage on a quiet road was perfect for our little break

Old Smokey is beautiful! It was so peaceful and we felt so relaxed. It really felt like a home from home and it was spotless! Avril and her husband Jim were very friendly and welcoming and the communication from Avril was fantastic from the moment I booked. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a really lovely stay in Beaminster. The little property was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedroom very spacious. The log burner downstairs made it very cosy and we had enough wood for our 2 night stay. We really appreciated the welcome treats for us and our dog. The fact we could bring our dog along too was a highlight for us. We visited the local Red lion pub both evenings because they were so friendly. The food was also absolutely fantastic there too, we would highly recommend.

a hidden gem! second time we have stayed here to visit family in the area .The place is in a very quiet setting yet close to all amenities. high quality accommodation very tastefully furnished and Ruby is close at hand should you need anything .

This was our second stay at Stanley Cottage. We arrived on a cold March afternoon and the cottage was so warm and welcoming. The cottage is like brand new inside, exceptionally clean with a fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. Kilmington is a very pretty multi award winning village with a very nice pub offering a wide choice of food and beverages! Kilmington is a short drive to the coast and has a fabulous Wildlife Park with plenty of exotic animals 5 minutes up the road. Overall a fabulous place to stay and we’ll definitely be going back.

We had a lovely few days exploring an area of Somerset we hadn't visited before. The Potting Shed was perfectly located for the things we like to do without having to drive very far at all; walks from the accommodation, a couple of NTproperties within a few miles and several pubs along the way. The Potting Shed was spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. The tennis court was amazing and floodlit too so no excuses for bad light stopping play! Tamzin was lovely and on hand if we needed any help. We would recommend.

We had such a lovely time at Barbara's place! It was easily accesible and very quiet, just what we wanted. Barbara and her husband are really nice and offered that beautiful balance between availability and respecting our privacy as guests. The room, kitchen and bathroom were just as described, everything functional and decorated in good taste. Thank you for a great stay!

My husband and I enjoyed five nights at Tania’s place while visiting friends in Shaftsbury. We walked to our friends house as well as downtown to the lovely shops and restaurants. Tania was very responsive with messages. Highly recommend her place!

The cottage was perfect for the weekend, cozy and lovely. The cottage was clean and lovely. Ian was helpful & was kind. Thank you.

2nd time staying with Poppy, a lovely Host, super cool, and an amazing place, nice and relaxed. This time met her 2 little sheep who are the funniest little things and will come and say hello to you ! I learned a bit more about the location this time and theres an amazing walking pathway out of the village, super for a dog walk. Great stay will be back ! x

Nice spacious accommodation that was close to the hostel for us. Really nice area and pleasant people. Highly recommend and I would certainly stay again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at your rural retreat. The wine, milk, bread and other items you left were a nice touch and saved us a trip to the supermarket. Those shortbread biscuits were delicious. We certainly made the most of the walking we could do from your doorstep. The coastline is so picturesque. Just returned home from a couple of nights at Claire’s place . We had a great stay , lovely location for us as visiting family in the area . Fantastic pub a stones throw from it , recommend booking as it was busy . The place was beautifully clean lovely comfy bed and everything and more we could have wanted for a couple of nights . It is next door to Claire’s house but we felt very private but nice knowing they were close if we needed anything . Great communication from Claire , earlier check in and a later check out . Thanks Claire for a lovely stay 🥰

From first response to arrival , contact with Jacqui was brilliant . On arrival we couldn’t have received a warmer welcome . The property was beyond our expectations. Everything was to hand with fresh linen and towels to hand . We were given a full explanation on how appliances worked and felt at home immediately. We couldn’t have asked for anything better . Beautiful quiet surroundings but close to all amenities . If you want value for money but 5* treatment then this is it . Thanks to both Jacqui and John for being such wonderful hosts . We will be back x

An ideal location for local Christmas family visiting , so we didn’t have need for local pubs/restaurants, however useful info from previous guests was available. It’s a lovely little ‘cottage’ with all you need , loads of hot water , and a nice cool bottle of wine on arrival !

Damien has been a marvellous host. On arrival we found clear instructions about the house and everything within it on the ipad which made it a breeze to understand. Damien responded to a request swiftly and thoughtfully which made the trip easier for our family. Crabtree Stables is luxurious and contemporary accommodation. I would really love to return and I recommend this Airbnb for anyone wanting a relaxing escape.
