We enjoyed our stay very much! The place is located on a elevated spot above Whakatane with breathtaking views! Lorraine was extremely accommodating and making us feel like home! The place is very spacious with more than enough space for our group of six adults and two kids - they even had a kids toy box! Thank you!

Loved our stay at Sandy's, they have a cute lookout they have created, nice cute signs to beach. The yurt was amazing, lovely communication. thanks so much, loved it!

Thank you Rachelle and family for an incredible stay at your bach. It was the most beautiful location for our get together. The surrounding native bush, tidy spacious lockwood and all the amenities you could ask for (right on the lake, spa, flying fox, kayaks) and a wonderful host to create an awesome holiday. You won't want to leave. If you are considering The Barefoot lodge - BOOK NOW! You won't regret it!!

This is a fantastic place to stay with all you need. Great indoor, outdoor living. Beautiful lake and easy home for all to enjoy. Lynley was very responsive and accommodating and we’d happily recommend and stay again.

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. We had a fantastic stay with our pup. Mark was a brilliant host and very accommodating. No issue for us but it is located on a busy road. However, the property is elevated and private and has off street parking. Also has a well fenced and maintained yard. Easy flat walk to restaurants, cafes, children’s playground and beach. Would love to come back again!

Janet is a wonderful communicator. She was extremely helpful throughout and we really appreciated all the help she provided. In terms of value for money, this was somewhat disappointing. While we were aware of the rules and preconditions of our stay before our holiday, having to cater for our own linens, towels, rubbish and recycling, etc. reduces our star rating and our value for money considerations.

What a beautiful place to stay! It was perfect for what we needed and we loved being able to bring our dogs. Communication was excellent.

Our stay was lovely. Handy location close to town and across from beach, clean and comfortable, and Robin was super helpful and accomodating. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic little house on the beach in Ohope west, a little gem hidden within a beautiful garden. Great amenities, nice kitchen, lots of outdoor furniture and bodyboards to use on the beach. Outdoor deck was awesome with bath and shower. Lots of birds all around, peaceful and starlit at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with Julia the perfect host.

Amazing house in an even more amazing location. We loved the deck and chairs and easy beach access! Spent a lot of time sitting on deck watching waves, surfers and beach goers. Unit was spotless and kitchen was very well stocked - and I mean very! Loved the Nespresso and frother. Great bed and comfortable living room with a good TV. Had a fabulous dinner at Cadera. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a bit of a splurge for just the two of us but so worth it!

The hosts were very helpful and the accommodation was lovely with a great fresh pine smell. It is very close to the beach and I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves on the shore. The morning shower was lovely with good pressure for an on-demand hot water system. Everything we needed was provided for a great stay.

Lovely holiday home with all the amenities in an awesome place. Close to cafes and restaurants and a short stroll to the beach.
