Our third trip to stay at WARU in Whakatane was as great as the first two. Shelly's apartment definitely is the platinum standard for places to stay. Everything you would ever need, short term or long term, is provided. Her special treats go way above any other place we've ever stayed…wine, homemade cookies, snacks, milk, breakfast staples….& there are all the condiments you need. The apartment has two excellent king size beds, two good bathrooms, and a very comfortable living space. Shelly gives the warmest welcome and responds almost immediately to any queries. The view is lovely & WARU sits right at one end of The Strand…quiet but shops & restaurants start half a block away & Ohope beach is a 3 km drive over the hill. Whakatane is probably our favourite small town in NZ! Very highly recommended.

Had a wonderful 2 weeks over Christmas at Sherries place. Fantastic location across the road from the amazing beach, and walkable to the port and coffee shop. House contained everything our extended family needed for the stay with spots to go for some peaceful reading. Sherrie was lovely and friendly to deal with and little things like leaving the Christmas tree up and showing us around when we arrived early were greatly appreciated. Totally recommend.

Jane was a great host she was responsive and helpful. Finding the property and getting in was easy and check-out instructions were clear. The property has an amazing outlook over Ohiwa Harbour and is less than five minutes walk to the beach. It's got everything you want for a relaxing family holiday. Highly recommended - thanks Jane and family!!!

Was een mooie plekje. Prachtig huisje met alle voorzieningen. Mooi keuken, grote koelkast en nieuwe badkamer/toilet en goede bedden. Prachtig overdekte terraas met een heel prive achtertuin. Zeker de moeite waard. Stand is 2 minuten lopen door een grazige steegje en veldje. Geen uitzicht van het strand vanaf het huis.

Family of five, stayed for a week. Should have and would have stayed longer if we could. This place is great, and we loved it. New, clean and with a well planned set up. Has everything you need, including amazing appliances. Huge deck to sit on and enjoy the view. Comfortable beds. Walk to the beach. Just great. Host is great. Friendly. Clear instructions and helpful recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here.

A lovely place to stay. The location was perfect, just across the road to the beach and the house was comfortable and clean. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the beautiful view was a highlight of the trip. Highly recommend.

Great views, easy check in, Comfortable and warm, had a great stay

It was such a great place to relax. Perfectly positioned to either wander down to the beach or walk to the cafes. We loved sitting on the deck watching the waves and soaking up the sun. The house also had a lot of space for everyone to spread out and relax.

Beautiful home with an equally beautiful view of the sea. Had everything we could have possibly wanted or needed. The homemade chocolate cake was an appreciated extra.
