Scarlett’s place was a great temporary home away from home. It felt like I was staying at a relatives house for a few days. It was comfy, cozy, and spacious. Wish we hadn’t had such a rainy few days to truly experience the beautiful Midwest. Would recommend to anyone.

It was our 3rd year back to Pat's place and was great as usual. We noticed the updates to the property this year and looks great. Looking forward to next October for a trip. thanks Pat!

Nice house for the price!

Southern hospitality at its finest. The kindness of an early check-in due to our funeral arrangements and the offer of a later check-out, was appreciated. Special touches to welcome our dog (toy & treats) and us (waters, ice, coffee, breakfast snacks), made this sad occasion more pleasant. When the storm came and took down part of a backyard tree, taking out fence and patio set, somehow they had it all cleaned up the next day. Fence repaired and new patio set replaced! Don’t know how they did it so quickly. We felt that our happiness was their top priority. Comfy bed and plenty of hot water for the shower was just what we needed. We felt at home. Thanks Tracy and Kent for doing a great job.

Very comfy and beautiful place to stay. Very clean and well kept too. The lake in the yard was also super pretty. Our host was amazing. Very nice, welcoming and gave us privacy too. I highly recommend Martha and her place to stay at!

It’s a nice quiet place in the woods on a dead end road. There’s seriously no traffic. I slept like a baby in a clean bed. The place has new appliances, good lighting, and a great overall ambiance. We found a good movie to watch and went to bed early. Thanks for a nice experience.

What a perfect country retreat for my family’s spring break trip. My wife was beside herself at the attention to original detail in the restoration and decoration of the house. The property is open and expansive, with a woods and pond to explore. Be sure and pet the friendly horses across the street! The house was clean and Ellie is very responsive for any questions or needs. The area is beautiful with a lovely sunset view from the front porch. 45 min to amazing hiking at Garden of the Gods! We look forward to staying at Sandbank Cottage again on our next southern Illinois trip!

The perfect place for a peaceful weekend getaway! I really enjoyed walking through the woods, playing fetch with their sweet pup, and soaking in the hot tub after hiking in the nearby Shawnee National Forest. Kevin was super helpful and responsive. I would love to come back sometime!

Loved staying at this location. So close to restaurants and shops and outdoor adventures. Very quiet. Amazing views of stars. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Very responsive and helpful host!

Wonderful place just what we needed. With our busy schedule we did not get to use all amenities provided to us but it all looks like a lot of fun

Kevin's property was perfect. He and his family were very responsive and helpful when we needed some assistance with the RV. We came in late our first night but with Kevin's instructions had no problem finding the spot. the location is very peaceful. We wanted to do some hikes and see fall foliage and Kevin's place was a perfect base camp. We will definitely be back. I'm already shopping the idea with a few other families to find a weekend when we can rent all 3 RVs!

If you’re looking for a peaceful, family and dog friendly, design focused place to stay, this is your spot. The garden was incredible with spring ephemerals and flowering cherry blossoms blowing in the wind. This was the perfect home base for exploring wineries and the Shawnee National Forest. The loft was the perfect spot to set up our young toddler’s pack-n-play, though fair warning that there is little sound insulation from the kitchen and main living to the upstairs while your little one is sleeping. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this glorious pool house again with our babe in tow! 10/10

Kristine’s house was just as described. The space was great for gathering together to visit and relax. The pool was a great bonus! We would definitely choose this property again when staying in the area.

Mercede’s place is great. Plenty of room for me and a great space in the garage for my boat. Was able to park it inside and not worry about it like I do when staying at a hotel. Mercedes was very responsive to my questions and needs. This is my second time staying there and look forward to my next stay. Thanks Mercedes🙂

This home was perfect for our stay. Very clean and comfortable for us and the private fenced back yard was perfect for our dog. We would book again if we were in the area .

Hands down one of my favorite Airbnb stays. Everything was perfect. Rebecca was an excellent host. Responsive, kind, and super helpful - and of course the beautiful lake house. Such a peaceful and lovely setting. Really made our quick vacation very special. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!

Sarah was communicative and helpful every step. Bed was firm, sheets clean, plenty of extra towels, blankets, and toilet paper. The fireplace was cozy and welcoming. My car had trouble with the ice/snow we had recently, but we even got help pushing my car til it got traction! There would be no issue for vehicles to get to the site otherwise.

This house was perfect for our group of six for a girls wknd getaway! Host was easy to communicate with & also let us check in early which was a huge plus, in addition to the complimentary coffee! We hope to return in the future. Thank you!
