We came to Bar Harbor for the MDI Marathon, and this ended up the perfect location, just two blocks from the start line. Price-wise it was comparable to any hotels for the four of us and the full kitchen helped us save some time and money by prepping most of our own meals. Having laundry was a huge plus for a longer stay and being able to pack less. Everything was well-maintained and Sara gave us great info and local recommendations before our stay. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay in Bar Harbor at Charles' place! The location of the house could not be more convenient to town - we walked everywhere the entire week except when we drove into Acadia. Could even walk to the Bar Island hike and tidepooling at low tide. His co-host, Nancy, also provided some excellent tips about things to do and places to visit in the area prior to our arrival.

Our group was extremely happy to find this gem for accommodations for the Wharf Rat Rally! We had 3 1/2 couples in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us and our gear. It is located realtively close to Digby and the ride to and from was absolutely wonderful! We were happy to find plenty of rooms, a fully stocked kitchen, 2 spacious bathrooms and a diningroom large enough to fit us all. The property and views were beautiful as well. It was a great place to relax after a long day of riding. Last but not least, our hosts were amazing! They made sure our stay was the best! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Truly a spotless & comfortable "Home Away from Home" in a serene setting. The listing didn't do this charming home justice. Very comfortable beds, great shower, and picture perfect Mainesetting. Perfect escape from beautiful but busy Bar Harbor. Host was very responsive and the home is well equipped. Recommend J.M. Gerrish in nearby Winter Harbor for breakfast. Would stay again!

Marta and Jons place is perfect to getaway from the city. Located minutes away from the beaches, you get to enjoy the serene seaside without driving too far. They are an awesome host with clear instructions from the get go. The house was clean and adorable, has all the amenities you need for a great stay. Thanks Jon and Marta!

This was my second time staying at the Shanty and I will definitely be back. The host, Odette, is wonderful. Very responsive and helpful. The Shanty has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

For my husband and me this place was perfect! Simple, clean, very homey. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (and more) and even spices, etc. We went to Acadia to hike and LOVED the location! Very easy access to trails, yet not too far for those who want to access downtown Bar Harbor. Allison was very responsive, kind, and helpful and gave us some great recommendations! We loved hiking Acadia so much and would love to return. If we do, we’ll definitely stay at Thelma’s Cottage!!

Perfect location for our needs, away from the craziness of Bar Harbor (yet just a few miles away when we needed to drive in for meals) and very close to Acadia National Park where we spent most of our time. Kevin and Donna’s place was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it together others!

The home was as described and had what we needed. We like to make all our meals, and the home had all necessary cooking items, although few spices, condiments, etc. Plenty of Kcups were provided. No dishwasher, but cleaning supplies and strainer were provided. The view of Mt. Dessert was beautiful! We traveled specifically to spend time in Acadia, and the location was perfect for that! The home is on a second story above a garage, connected to the main home with another resident. He was friendly and mostly kept to himself. The clothes washer and dryer (detergent provided) were on the main floor. There were several locked rooms, leaving just the bedroom, bathroom, and main living area. It was ample room for 2. Alison was exceptionally responsive and accommodating! We would certainly recommend and would book again!

The layout is open, spacious, and has a simple elegance. The host is responsive and helpful.

this was my 2nd year staying there. Pierre is very helpful. went very much out of his way to help us out. I will be staying there again.

Diwas's place is modern and located on a sleepy street close to Bar Harbor. There was ample parking at his residence and walking into downtown Bar Harbor is 10-15 minutes. Diwas was communicative and provided great recommendations for Acadia. I can confidently recommend his place.

We stayed at Norene's for a couple of days and we loved it there! the space was very cozy, felt like a home. It had all the amenities, the kitchen was particularly well stocked with coffee, sugar, creamers, etc. We had a bit of a trouble with the lock at the beginning but it was our fault and Norene was very helpful and very friendly helping us. The place was super well located and the area was very lively due to halloween. All in all, would recommend!

If you are looking for a vacation that is quiet, relaxing and with stunning views then this is the place! Only 10 minutes from downtown bar harbor and quick easy access to Acadia. Honestly, my wife and I made less trips to Acadia because the views from the property were better! The hosts are fantastic and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and Ann was super easy to communicate with before and during our stay. As others have noted, while the distance to the Bar Harbor business district is technically walkable, the roads have no shoulders, sidewalks, or street lights so walking after dark would not be a good idea. That said, we had no problem with finding parking (in mid/late October).

Brian’s unit was a great find! Centrally located to everything in Bar Harbor. We were able to walk to breakfast and dinner every evening without using our car. Pay attention to his restaurant recommendations. We tried several places on his list and they were all delicious. The apartment was clean, the kitchen well equipped, and the furnishings appeared just as they do in the listing photos. The space is a convenient 5-15 minutes from Acadia depending on where you’re going within the park which allowed us to have a leisurely start to each day without worrying about missing time in the park. Definitely check out Brian’s apartment if you’re traveling to the area.

Great stay, very close to everything all within walking distance. The grocery store is a block away to get anything needed food or personal hygiene products. Very easy to access lots of privacy. I Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to visit Bar Harbor. I will definitely book this unit again in the future. Brian was very helpful and responsive. He gave me a to of local recommendations for everything to do in the area. The home was very clean and fully stocked with anything you could need. Thanks for the comfortable experience.

This is the second time we've stayed at this spot - we enjoyed it so much that we went back for more! We really enjoy the location just on the edge of town - quiet and easy walking distance from everything. The home is lovely and Brian is a wonderful host. We'd stay again - and probably will!

We were impressed from the minute we arrived. The location is perfect. Close to everything in town but on a quiet side street. I can’t imagine a better location. Clean, fresh and stocked. We hiked most days and ate out but if we’d wanted to cook, we could have. Beds were comfy, and spacious. We had private parking which is necessary in touristy towns. Host was responsive when needed. A true gem in Bar Harbor.
