If you're looking at a few places in this area and Holly's cottage is available, book it!! It's an absolute gem. Words can't do justice, honestly, not only is it beautiful, super comfortable, with every thought having gone into making it a wonderful place to stay, at a wonderful price, on top of that it could not be in a better location, it's absolutely fantastic for exploring from, in all directions, for all activities. I stayed on my own for walking and had a brilliant time, my husband joined me for the last day and it was wonderful to enjoy the cottage and area as a couple, but it would also be fantastic for a family, so many things to do!! But the icing on cake is Holly, without being too much at all, she cares, checks, and makes sure everything is absolutely perfect. This is one of the best places I've stayed and I can't wait to return.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage is great and plenty of room for everyone. The tablet in the kitchen is great for instructions-we would never have figured out the extractor fan without it! 😆

I had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage! The setting was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The highlight was definitely the hot tub—soaking under the stars was an unforgettable experience. The cottage itself was cozy, well-equipped, and spotless. The horses and chickens added to the feeling of a countryside retreat. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway!

We had a lovely 3 day stay at the lampost, we was greeted at the door with a warm and welcome host, that had set up a welcome basket with goodies and some special birthday gifts as a lovely touch. There was everything you could think or ask for whilst we was there, local shops, bars and restaurants with a short drive or bus journey away. The lampost was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place that we would highly recommend! ***** 5 star Luxury

Amazing host who went above and beyond by decorating the place with happy birthday banners and balloons for my Mums stay for her 60th birthday. The place has so much character and is in such a perfect location

A completely exceptional stay, from start to finish! Communication from Gemma was swift, friendly and proactive. The cottage itself was nothing short of perfection; from the comfiest bed I’ve even slept in on a holiday, to the high end luxury finish of the kitchen and bathroom, to the added extra of a spotless hot tub. Everything one could possibly need for a lovely stay was thought of, as well as a very kind welcome champers! Thank you for such a special stay. I can’t recommend you highly enough!

This cottage was the best ever very clean and very private also loved the hot tube would stay there again highly recommended

We had a wonderful time, there is so much to do and the cottage is lovely. We all remarked how big the place is because the pictures just did not do it justice. We'll definitely be coming back!!

Elley was lovely from check-in to leaving. The house is really nice and in a lovely location. Instructions were all clearly communicated, and any questions answered very quickly. We had a lovely stay and would recommend if in the area.

Puzzle Cottage is an absolute gem. Cosy, quirky and perfect for a stay in the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Loads of local information left by Richard and the cottage was well equipped with a lovely welcome basket of goodies. We will definitely come again and would thoroughly recommend Puzzle Cottage.

Last minute get away with the family! Really nice place out in the country side and not too far from Pocklington for everything you need! Nice clean spacious barn conversion!

We had a perfect stay felt right at home in a lovely location. Everything you could need at hand. Perfect for dogs as little enclosed area. very pretty village, gateway to the moors and not far from Castle Howard and the beautiful surrounding area. Would definitely recommend.

From the start Jacqui & David have been friendly & helpful. We had a really warm welcome & felt right at home straight away. The welcome letter was a lovely personal touch and the home-made lemon drizzle cake was a delicious treat. We had everything we needed & our J-dog really made full use of the dog field. (I'm sure he's dreaming about it as I type!) We were lucky to have clear nights to take in the sky full of stars, which we've never seen the like of before, and in the morning we watched the sun rising out of the sea. We rarely visit the same place twice as we prefer to try somewhere new, but we can't wait to stay at Woodpecker Cottage again.

Lovely accommodation - cosy, comfortable and warm with everything you need. Great to come back to after a day exploring the North York Moors. Pickering is a lovely town. Jenny provided lots of very helpful information. We had a great time - highly recommend this property.

Lovely place to stay, had everything we needed and was nice and quiet. Lots of parking and great instructions from Michael, he did say it could be tricky to find in the dark but his instructions helped a lot. Close to York, would definitely stay again if we’re back up that way

An absolute GEM of a place! Copper cottage is immaculately clean! Peggy has extensive knowledge of all the needs of differently abled people and there is plenty of room to move around with a wheelchair or walking stick in the cottage. The Christmas tree field was a bonus to view and walk around - really magical. Our dog loved the local walks and there are great dog friendly cafes etc, nearby. The garden is huge and my daughter enjoyed the swing! My only complaint is that I didn't book it for longer! Do not hesitate to book!

Great place to stay, The dogs loved it! Host instructions very clear, didn't have to contract them for anything. Shame you have to drive everywhere to take your dogs out, not many foot paths near by.

A stunning amd peaceful setting. A really comfortable and cosy cottage with easy access to all activities we wanted to do.

What a find! Amazing place to stay. Not only is it a 5 star accommodation, it's a perfect place to explore the local area and has the best back garden I've ever experienced i.e. "The Himalayan Gardens & Sculptures". The accommodation itself was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean, plenty of space for two adults and two springer spaniels. We valued the entrance with it's stone floor to rub down our wet pups when arriving back after our adventures. With plenty of logs for the burner it added to the feeling of home from home. Everything supplied in the cottage is top class quality. The outside area included an enclosed patio which many need if they have dogs with them. We were there when the gardens were closed so it was quiet and such a treat to be able to walk around not sharing it with anyone else. We will be back and have already recommended the cottage to our friends and family. Thank you Will and Sophie

Anna always replied to any questions very fast. The cottage had all the amenities required. The cottage was nestled in the town centre, but you would not know it as it was so quiet. Loved it, if I was in the area again I would not hesitate in trying to book this again.

Small but perfectly formed. Ideal accommodation for our two night stay with our 2 small dogs. House comfortable and very well equipped. Andy was an excellent host. Would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to be back again ourselves.

We stayed at Fairfax Cottage for Christmas and it was just perfect. We had a lovely time and enjoyed good walks. A great location for meeting up with friends and family in North Yorks.

Bruce has made a wonderful quirky place to stay. He is clearly a pro at finding fascinating vintage items. So much nostalgia and intrigue amonst the collection inside this lovely cottage. It's very clean and comfortable, so cosy with the log burner! The back of the property looks across a valley to Dalby forest. It's a lovely suntrap in the day and great to watch sunset in the evening. We thoroughly loved the dark skies for star gazing at night. Its an amazingly quiet location and a great base for exploring towards the coast. Bruce was very helpful answering my questions before our stay, and he was so friendly and welcoming. Lots of personal touches and homemade/local supplies left for us on our arrival. We had a great time, thank you so much!
