Walk through ten centuries of Madrid’s hidden history

Follow the evolution of Madrid across 10 centuries with this architectural walking tour. We’ll trace the city’s transformation from a humble ninth-century village to the bustling metropolis of today. • Begin at the remnants of the city’s original walls, built in the ninth century when Spain was under Muslim rule. • Make our way to the 13th-century San Nicolás de Bari de los Servitas, Madrid’s oldest church, and see other surviving medieval buildings such as the 15th-century Torre de los Lujanes, which once housed the nobility. • Conclude our walk in the relative present—the grand, 18th-century Plaza Mayor. Throughout the tour, I’ll point out hidden treasures like a medieval door made out of wood and tombstones reused in unexpected ways. After the tour, we can continue the conversation over for a drink at a local bar. You’ll leave this journey with a sense of all the layers of history that lay just beneath Madrid’s modern surfaces.

Sketch with an artist in historic Retiro Park

Spend 90 minutes with an artist, sketching people and places in Madrid’s beautiful El Retiro Park. • First, we’ll stroll around the park, looking for ideal spots to draw. I’ll share a little about the park's history and significance. • Next, I’ll hand out tools and notebooks and demonstrate my own sketching technique: using fine, consistent lines to create a detailed drawing. • Now it’s your turn! Sketch out your initial ideas using a Rotring pencil, and finish the drawing with a Rotring ink pen and watercolors. I’ll offer guidance at every step, and we’ll finish our session by showing one another what we’ve drawn. Sketching is a fun way to spend a few hours in a beautiful spot, and you’ll take home your own artwork to commemorate the day.

Spectacle traditionnel de flamenco dans une cave voûtée

Our team at Essential Flamenco will welcome you inside. You will be offered a drink at the tablao bar, and later you will visit an +100 year old original brick cave. The first 20 minutes you will relax with your drink in the main room with the Flamenco music... Next, ten minutes before the show, you will be given a introduction about the history of Flamenco, from its roots and origins to how it developed throughout the years. Finally, to conclude the experience, you will enjoy the one-hour flamenco show that will take place inside the famous cave, without amplifiers or microphones. Our capacity for the event is limited, so you are going to enjoy a unique, warm and intimate evening . Every week we are visited by different artists who delight us with their talent and art, and the performances vary daily, so each exhibit is unique! . We have three schedules, the first at 6pm, the second at 7.30pm and the last at 9pm. Essential Flamenco is ranked number two on TripAdvisor, obtaining certificates of excellence for seven years. Under the artistic direction of "El Mistela", who won the National Flamenco Critic Award. We are waiting for you to enjoy an unforgettable evening!!

Visitaremos Plaza mayor, mercado de San Miguel, plaza de la villa, iglesia castrense, catedral de la Almudena, palacio real y teatro de la ópera. No solo te llevaremos a algunos de los mejores lugares de la ciudad para tomar fotos espectaculares, también te brindaremos consejos y recomendaciones para el resto de tu estadía. Te ayudaremos a posar y tomaremos muchas fotos espontáneas, para asegurarnos de que recibirás los mejores resultados. Retocaremos y editaremos una selección de 40 tomas, pero te enviaremos todas las fotos que tomemos durante la sesión EL MISMO DIA. Un voyage en Espagne médiévale à Tolède et Ségovie

Realmente queremos esforzarnos para que sientas y vivas las mágicas tradiciones e historias españolas, por lo que siempre seremos un grupo máximo de 6 personas. No haremos el típico tour; seremos como un grupo de amigos divirtiéndonos. Iniciaremos nuestra experiencia viajando a nuestra primera parada, la mítica ciudad de Toledo, Carpetana Romana que data desde el año  193 A.C. Nuestra inmersión en la cultura toledana empezara con una caminata a través de los miradores  con las mejores panorámicas de la ciudad. caminaremos por sus mágicas calles, pasearemos maravillados por su impresionante arquitectura y ascenderemos hasta la mayor fortaleza de la ciudad. Allí haremos una pausa para que puedas comer tranquilo y sin prisas, ya que te aseguramos que en nuestra aventura la idea es que puedas disfrutar plenamente. Continuaremos nuestro recorrido hacia el segundo destino, que será la ciudad de Segovia, patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO. Al llegar conoceremos el acueducto romano mejor preservado del mundo, subiremos hasta su parte mas alta  e iremos a explorar una de las fortalezas medievales mas importantes de España, el majestuoso Alcázar. Antes de emprender nuestro regreso pasearemos por  la calle Real , famosa por sus magnificas tiendas donde podremos comprar un lindo recuerdo.

Madrid intimiste : histoire et gastronomie (centre historique)

Come with me on a intimate tour with a nice mix of history, architecture, fun anecdotes, a few jokes and really, really, tasty food (Not the mainstream, cliché, touristy food!). We'll start at the Plaza Mayor and then make our way through the old village, stopping at a local market to enjoy some entrees and drinks. Then continue our historical journey through the most ancient and interesting parts of the old town, to finally end before the majestic Royal Palace. After putting aside the history we’ll finish the tour at a really classic local restaurant where you'll get to taste different, mouth-watering food and local drinks. Of course, aside from the food goodies, we will get an opportunity to chill, know each other better and share some laughs. Come and see Madrid through my eyes, I want to make you feel as if you're walking through the city with a bunch of friends but one of them happens to know a lot about it and is more than willing to share the knowledge with you! If you're easygoing, like history and kind of a foodie, this is your place!
