Join me, an expert leather craftsman, in a hands-on discovery of traditional leatherwork techniques to create your own hand-sewn leather item. • We’ll begin with a tour of my artisan workshop in the historical center of Palermo, where I’ll share anecdotes and the history of this unique boutique space. • I’ll teach you the ancient hand-sewing methods used in the Sicilian leather manufacturing tradition, and you’ll practice the techniques. I’ll provide the leather, patterns, and all the additional materials you need. • You’ll create and stitch a one-of-a-kind notebook, book holder, or tobacco pouch, including the processing and application skills you’ve learned. You’ll leave with new skills for traditional Sicilian leatherwork, without the use of any machinery, and take home a gorgeous and unique keepsake.

You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Istanbul’s artistic heritage, and a new way of seeing the city through its intricate and meaningful details. Together, we’ll explore the Old Town (Gothic and El Born neighborhood), which blends medieval charm with contemporary street art. During the tour, I will explain the architecture of the place and together we will discover the most recent Urban Art pieces that international artists have given to this incredible city. • We will start in front of the cathedral, to understand how the medieval city was built. Meanwhile, we will see original murals by Picasso and other great artists, following the evolution of street art through iconic graffiti. Each wall tells the story of this neighborhood’s rich history and rebellious spirit. • Next, I will take you through the streets of El Born. A labyrinth of medieval architecture where we can see large-scale murals and recent installations that have transformed public spaces into vibrant art canvases. • After that, we will go to The Born Market, where I will show you a secret mosaic. In our way, we will pass in front of the Picasso Museum and beautiful art and craft shops. • Finally, I’ll share some of our art contributions to the neighborhood. We’ll visit a few of my installations and tour my studio in the Artquemy Gallery, where you’ll see works in progress. Mosaic is an ancient art form that immortalized both everyday and mythological scenes from the Roman Empire. For over 200 years, the Cassio family of mosaicists has kept this tradition. You are invited to our historic studio in the lively Monti neighborhood where we will share ancient secrets about the craft that you can apply to your own work of art. Surrounded by original tools, sketches by famous Italian artists, and important mosaic masterpieces, you will learn about distinctly Roman techniques. During this course, you will create your own unique piece of art — utilizing the principles of texture, composition, and marble tile cutting in the process. A master mosaicist will guide you based on ancient Roman mosaic rules and methods. You will leave the workshop with a one-of-a-kind, 7 by 5 inch masterpiece to commemorate your time in the Eternal City. Please note, this workshop requires handling various tools. For safety reasons, we recommend this experience to those over the age of 12.

La Peinture sur Soie à Paris

Initiez-vous à l'art de peindre sur la soie ! Vous allez passer un moment tellement satisfaisant ! Lors de cet atelier unique à Paris, je vous explique le procédé avec une petite démonstration et vous présente le matériel spécifique. Vous choisirez vos couleurs dans une gamme de magnifiques peintures spéciales pour la soie. Votre soie devra être repassée ultérieurement avec un fer sans vapeur afin de fixer les teintes, vous pourrez alors porter et laver votre création. Vous pourrez choisir un modèle pour le transferer sur votre soie de 45cmx45cm ou peindre librement à votre guise. La soie sera tendue ensuite sur un cadre, pour la peindre selon vos envies. Si vous souhaitez peindre un grand foulard carré 90x90, 2 séances seront nécessaires. Vous pouvez aussi me contacter pour réserver d'autres dates ou pour un atelier particulier. Participe à l’aventure MiniMe Paris ! Voilà le programme de ton périple ! 1ère étape : Choisir le matériel pour ton futur chapeau ! The visit in the Merlini Storti restoration studio gives guests the opportunity see from up close classical and contemporary artworks and experience them through the delicate process of conservation. Valeria Merlini and Daniela Storti, among the leading Italian experts in restoration and conservation, who have restored numerous masterpieces including three paintings by Caravaggio, offer visitors the chance to understand the importance of the artisanal aspect of an artist’s creative work in a journey that will enrich people’s relationship with art. In our atelier, guests will experience art in a direct and intimate way, being able to observe from up close the restorers’ work and learning about the fascinating world of art techniques and materials. At the end of this exclusive artistic experience, we like to offer our guests a small aperitif, that includes a glass of prosecco or wine and a few traditional Italian snacks.
