My family loved this house! We traveled all around Kagoshima, from Kirishima Kinkowan National Park down to Ibusuki, using this house as the wonderful base to come home to every night. Our host recommended an amazing family onsen nearby and a bunch of parks and sights that we would never have found on our own - it was so amazing to have such friendly and helpful advice. The house itself is great, with a well equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable beds, and lots of space outside for my kids to play soccer and run around. We will absolutely return if we're in the area again!

素晴らしいロケーションと手入れの行き届いてる滞在場所。プライバシーが守られながら初めての場所なのに安心して寛げるのは素晴らしいホストのおかげ！暮らすような滞在をするには全く困らない全てのツールが揃った場所。きちんと管理されている部屋は快適でした。ホストとのおしゃべりは楽しく心地良いので一晩では足りません。寝るだけの滞在にもったいない！今回一泊のみだったのですが次回は連泊したいと思います。レンタカーでこの場所に来るまでの車窓はまるでロードムービーのような素敵な時間でした。季節の変化を花鳥風月が教えてくれるこの場所。春が始まりそうな今回だったので次は芽吹く緑に染まる夏や冬の足音がする秋といつかは真っ白なまさに白銀の世界をこの場所で感じてみたいです。とにかく！素晴らしい！大好きになりました♡また帰ってきますーありがとうございました♪

Je recommande ce logement pour une nuit avant un vol depuis Narita par exemple. Scott est venu nous chercher à la gare et nous a emmené à l’aéroport le lendemain (2000 yens par personne, les enfants ne payent pas). Il était très sympathique et attentionné. Le logement est assez rustique mais fonctionnel pour une nuit, situé dans la campagne.

The most amazing, creative and quirky house! Unlike anywhere else in Japan. We absolutely LOVED it. Its a hand built cob house with so much charm and comfort. A highlight of our Japan trip for sure. If you are lucky enough to come across this place on Airbnb, make sure you book it!!!

What a stay, if you are looking for a spacious stay with the most friendly host, stay here. We really enjoyed our stay and contact with Kirsten. Thank you for everything you made us feel at home (far away from home). The view from the living room and the outside deck are just stunning and the region where the house is locate is fun. A (rental) car is a must but gives you the freedom to fully explore the island of Okinawa. I would book again, if I ever have the opportunity to go back!

A spacious & beautiful house. Bring a large group! We enjoyed playing in the snow outside, and short walk or drive to the Monkey Park. The house was spotless, and very comfortable.

Hitoshi's mountain inn is a gem. The old restored farmhouse is incredibly charming. We felt being transported back in time. For hours, we sat on the wooden veranda, staring into the amazing landscape that surrounds the house, while listening to the chirping of birds in the forest. We opted for the meal plan, and were treated by Hitoshi and Emiko to amazing local cuisine. We had a very difficult time saying good bye to this beautiful place. We hope to be able to return some time soon.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay with Ryohei and his lovely family. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome that made us feel right at home. The interior of the house was incredibly cozy, with thoughtful touches throughout and the inviting warmth of the fireplace setting the perfect atmosphere. We especially loved the setup for the indoor BBQ, such a unique and fun feature! But the true highlight was the private hot tub, which made for an unforgettable experience on a rainy morning. Thank you again for your hospitality, we would love to come back!

Hiro scored 10/10 as a host. He was communicative, friendly, and helpful beyond expectation. I don't imagine our holiday to Japan would have been close to the experience we had without Hiro as a host. He picked us up from the station, provided travel to many local destinations, and provided fantastic suggestions for things to do in the area and beyond. He was a wealth of information about Japanese culture and showed genuine interest in ensuring our experience in Azumino was meaningful and memorable. The guest house was lovely, in a quiet location but walkable access to nearby cafes, and an onsen! One thing I suggest is to hire a car in this area as it is a rural area, and taxis to the station and shopping areas can be quite expensive. Without Hiro to the rescue we would have been a bit stuck. We caught a train and free shuttle bus to the nearest ski resorts which were amazing. If you are looking to experience Japanese life beyond the bustle of Tokyo, a stay here is a must!

This is our second time staying with Tomo and once again we had an excellent experience! We utilized this location for a weekend in Nikko. Tomo provided many local recommendations and that made our time even better. I highly recommend checking this place out!

The house is amazing and lovely with very cool fireplace. The surroundings in wintertime is really beautiful and magical especially with the windows open in the house. It feels like i'm living in a picturesque film. The house is also well insulated and there is sufficient heating in the wintertime. Area is peaceful and you will need a car to stay here as it is away from the town center. The house is also well designed with 'dirty' area to wear your shoes and a clean area which stood out. It also has the most interesting textured walls in the living area. A lot of work was put into the designing of the house. The bedrooms were quite normal but still very nice haha. Small thing to note: Both bedrooms are separated by a wall in between that does not reach up to the ceiling. So if your friend snores both sides will be able to hear. Thank you for letting me stay in your beautiful house! Totally worth it to stay here! What an experience! Especially for a city person like me. <3

Our stay with Satoko in Yoichi was incredible. From the smooth pickup at the station to the warm welcome, we felt instantly at home. The house sits on a hill with breathtaking 180° ocean views, surrounded by snowy mountains. Waking up to the sunrise over the peaks was pure magic. The bathtub lets you soak while admiring the scenery, and the heated Japanese toilet is a game-changer! The cozy tatami room, comfy beds, and warm table made for the perfect retreat. There’s also a reading nook and an outdoor spot to enjoy a drink while gazing at the ocean. Satoko and her family’s hospitality was unmatched, and their local tips were gold. My favorite part? The breakfast setup—we could cook our own food with the best ingredients. This place is pure magic, and we’ll definitely be back!

Honored to have stayed at the Snow Shack during our first visit to Hokkaido. Daisuke-san was super kind, helpful, and accommodating during our stay. Rarely do Airbnbs live up to the expectations, but the Snow Shack was a beautiful, simple, well-considered home that served as a good home base out of the crowds.

Lianne is a super friendly and responsive host. The place is cozy as your own home with the great pellet stove.
