Joan's place is magical — set amidst redwoods within walking distance of the center of Mill Valley, where there are plenty of restaurants, a good bookstore, and delicious coffee. The living/dining area has floor to ceiling windows...more like glass walls, and there's a spacious deck where you can watch the sunrise on a clear day and the stars at night. If you want to stay in a place that feels full of history and stories, there's no better place. This is the second time I've gotten to stay at Joan's for a work retreat, and it has been absolutely perfect both times. And Joan herself is utterly lovely and generous — an added delight to the experience.

A peaceful spot, yet also geared for a child or two if your group includes children: there was a play structure and a playhouse that our almost 3 year old adored. Plenty of space to gather for long conversations or for time alone to read and rest. The nearby beaches were easy to get to from the house: Shell Beach, Heart's Desire Beach and Chicken Ranch Beach. We only had 5 days and 4 nights at the house, but we all felt refreshed at the end of our stay. Belinda, the host, was responsive to all of our questions when we arrived. Once at the house, it's pretty easy to be there: a well stocked kitchen with ample condiments and spices, and a large open space living room/dining room to hang out, and an expansive deck with a couch to gather with your group and talk into the evening or just look up at the stars.

Keren and Bejamin's house was the perfect spot for a staff retreat - especially during a massive rain storm over a few days of our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed for making full meals. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the living room was spacious and accommodating for our small team to work together for the week. The serene setting of the house with large windows offering incredible views made our stay feel like a true retreat. There were tenants who lived below but we never heard or saw anyone so it felt like we were alone on the property. I would rebook our future retreats there without hesitation and highly recommend their home.

Perfect house to connect with our kids, grandkids and granddogs. Plenty of room, everything was clean and the beach was fantastic. We would definitely rent this house again!

This place was such a charming, wonderful home, everything you could want for the San Anselmo / Fairfax experience, we fell in love with the town and Caroline's home made it a spectacular visit! Will be coming back 100% to stay here again! Thank you Caroline!

Greg was not only an amazing host -- he also was so accommodating for a booking error on my end. Not only did he help reconcile -- he was supportive and communicative through out. Hope to stay here again soon :)

Great house in a beautiful location. Fantastic views. Very comfortable for the 6 adults in our party. Well stocked. About 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Only caution would be to anyone with a mobility issue, lots of stairs in the house. We will definitely come back!

This place is very special. Both the grounds and the interior are beautifully designed. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. The hot tub worked great, nestled in the redwoods. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay. Eugene and Natalia were very helpful and always responsive. The place is beautiful, with a fun mid-century modern vibe, and the neighborhood is tucked into a beautiful valley and is particularly beautiful in spring. Everything is just as described and as seen in the photos. Very comfortable bed! I highly recommend it.

Such a cute place! Right in walking distance of beach, food, coffee, and even a little park right near the beach if you bring little ones! I met the owners and they were so sweet and friendly and truly wanted to know if I enjoyed the space. The interior was beautiful and bright! I would highly recommend this spot!

Visiting this amazing home should be on everyone’s bucket list. It’s absolutely beyond fantastic. It’s not often historic homes like this are offered to the public. Please be respectful of everyone in the community and take good care of the home so that the owners can continue to share it with us! We fell in love with it immediately. This studio was beautiful and pristine with a large bathroom! The most well-stocked rental we have stayed at. :) Perfect for me and my dog. We enjoyed the local surroundings and path (Lynch Creek Trail) behind the neighborhood. Plus we were only 30+ min from the coast (a beautiful drive also). Definitely recommend.

I stayed in Dawn’s place for a month. From the moment I arrived, Dawn and I became friends. She is an amazing host and a great person. With her help I was able to have a wonderful time in Mill Valley. Location of the house is perfect for shopping, restaurants and just getting anywhere you need to be. I fell in love with Mill Valley and I’m thinking of possibly moving there permanently. I will be back and stay there again. I highly recommend this place to anybody that’s looking for great experience. Ann

Eileen sent my wife and I, tons of recommendations before our trip ensuring we had a good inside scoop on local recommendations. The farm was exactly as described and perfectly located for Sonoma and Napa trips. It was nice and private with lots of restaurants and wineries within 10 minutes so we did not have to travel far. Will try and stay here for all our Sonoma and Napa trips going forward.

I stayed here for a month and it was great, I highly recommend! As described and seen in the pictures. Annie was helpful and ensured I had everything I needed. I think this apartment is perfect for 1-2 people with a child or small/medium-sized pet. Clean and cozy with nice, warm lighting. The bed was comfy, kitchen was small but well-equipped, living room was roomy with a medium-sized couch, and bathroom more than sufficient. I loved relaxing on the deck as well! The neighborhood is hilly and beautiful, close to bus/ferry/restaurants/stores. Touristy downtown, but not as much in the immediate vicinity. I walked A LOT with my dog and enjoyed it, but the hills can be steep! Definitely a very safe area. The only “con” is, in my opinion, it’s just a bit expensive for the size. However, I understand it’s in a pretty wealthy neighborhood and am sure Airbnb fees/taxes account for a decent part of the cost. Suffice to say, this is a once-in-a-long-while stay for me. Hopefully that’s fair.

Overall House is worth for paid money > (1)we really enjoying the nice surrounding around the house, canoe rowing, photos talking from Pier as well as from the parked yacht that even do party / celebration inside the Boat.. (2) Great photos with sea & lake background around the house.

Once you open the door, you are transplanted into a space where a breath is taken and a breath is held. If you are seeking a calmness, this home is the one. Pride of ownership is evident in the furnishings, personal touches and in the whole home itself. Didn’t want our stay to end.

My friends and I stayed at Seaon’s home for about a week and we felt right at home. It was a cozy spot with a beautiful outdoor porch and garden to hang out in. There was enough beds for four adults and a baby. Seaon was very easy to communicate with and also responsive when we discussed anything regarding the house. The neighborhood was fairly quiet during our stay which is always nice. We drove to Oakland, San Francisco, and parts of wine country from the house and found it to be in a good central location. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for somewhere to stay with your group.

My family (parents, grandparents, and kids) stayed at this great waterfront home in March 2025. My kids loved the heated pool, hot tub, and kayak! We liked the well appointed kitchen and having lots of space to spread out across the five bedrooms. The only downside is that’s it’s a bit on the well used side and could use touch-ups here and there and one bedroom is a loft so we had to be aware of the noise level downstairs. That didn’t stop us from having a great time and using this as our jumping off point to the city (15-30 min depending on traffic) or North Bay for hiking, oysters, and wine.

Exceptional hilltop home! Highly recommend. Full wall of windows offers stunning views, and living room and kitchen are flooded with natural light. Immaculately clean and thoughtfully designed throughout. Entire home has a designer touch. Well-equipped kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, furniture and beds very comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the fragrant, well-maintained spring garden, with numerous blooming daffodils and hyacinths. Walking paths throughout. Geraldine was responsive and helpful, providing great recommendations for local hikes and restaurants that proved spot-on. Geraldine has clearly put careful thought into creating a comfortable, peaceful retreat. Perfect for anyone seeking a quiet getaway in a beautiful setting

Excellent place to stay! Great location. Quiet. 5 min drive to Sonoma Square. There are a lot of great wineries in the area. Kids loved the pool and hot tub. Great kitchen. It was not only stocked with all the kitchenware you will need, but it had high quality kitchenware, too. Beds were very comfortable. Check-in was easy and host was easy to communicate with. I’m will stay here again! Highly recommended!

This beautiful home located in Sonoma is a true gem- in fact the pictures do not do it justice. Located near all the fine winery’s, it’s hard to decide whether to stay home or go explore! We had so much fun in the game room- the karaoke was a real hit. The home has a real charm that makes you feel cozy- like you just walked into your favorite relatives home. I would say it was one of the nicest Airbnb homes I’ve stayed and I’ve stayed at a lot. We hope to return one day.
