In all of my travels all over the world, this has been the single best Airbnb hospitality experience I’ve ever had. The host, Mameī, was super friendly as soon as I arrived, he came to pick me up at the Iga bus station at 8pm, despite me missing my first bus and having to reorganize on the fly. He then showed me to the house where I stayed, and it was incredibly charming. A beautiful authentic old ryokan with stellar comfort and cleanliness, best of both worlds. I had work to do and the WiFi was as fast as it gets. The host also made food and tea for me at every meal, while we enjoyed conversations through google translation, super friendly. He put at my disposal an electric bycicle to stroll around the countryside, and let me tell you, 15’ rides brought me to spots, lakes, trails and forests that make the French countryside / alps pale in comparison. All in all, 10/10 experience. As authentic Japanese countryside as it gets, with stellar conditions. Will come back for sure.

房子非常乾淨且交通方便，位於住宅區所以晚上很安靜，房東人也非常細心的介紹房源的所有設備，居住感受非常好，有機會還會選擇入住，謝謝！

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!

My sister and I only stayed 1 night at Takayuki-San’s place but we had such a pleasant time. The place was clean and cozy and we felt right at home. Located in the countryside/small town, about a 10 minute walk from the train station, convenient stores and restaurants. It was very peaceful and we were able to recharge there. Takayuki-San is really friendly and nice. He always responded and answered all our questions. If we are ever in the area in the future, we would come stay again :)

This is my 4th time staying at にゃん’s. Whenever I am in Nagoya, I know that I can feel at home here. As soon as I walk in, it does feel like coming home. In the 5 years I’ve been coming here (it would’ve been more, but as you all know, COVID wrecked the world’s travel plans), not much has changed. It’s a reliable, quiet place to come back to after sightseeing or even to make a home base for day trips to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Gifu, Mie, even as far as Fukuoka (wake up early for this!). As much as I love the apartment, the standout highlight is still the host, にゃん. When I couldn’t figure out something, or got lost wandering sightseeing, they were there to help. From the moment you become their guest, they want to make sure you have the best experience of Japan possible. Treat にゃん well, because they will treat you well. The epitome of “omotenashi” — the Japanese tradition of hospitality.

アメニティーの充実が助かりました。お部屋が毛布が暖かく気持ちよかったです。電気毛布まであってびっくりしました。 名古屋の滞在の時にはまた利用させていただきます。

房间比较小，摊开行李箱就不太能走路，所以拿取东西不方便。另外，床是在阁楼的所以比较压抑，床垫的摆放位置使得有一个人的腿是无法伸直的。但是小猫还是很开心的，窜上窜下，可以尽情活动。附近有名古屋连锁咖啡店，还有一家不错的法国烘焙，因为是居民区环境非常安静这点很棒，还有一个很大的超市，走十分钟可到达，总之还是可以的。

It was a nice, almost four storey apartment. The place is 20 mins away from the station. But it was a nice walk from the station if the weather is good. The view from the place is great. You can see the lake and the mountain. We love the nature the most.

とても良い旅になりました。 麻雀セットや、卓球等の設備に不具合があったのが残念でしたが、ほかの設備は完璧でした！ ありがとうございました！

掲載されている写真の通りの、素晴らしい施設でした。残念ながら宿泊した日の天候は悪かったですが、室内も充実しており十分に楽しめました。
