On hot days, work on your tan from a poolside lounger or hop in to beat the heat. On casual occasions, pick up something fresh from a local market and fire up the charcoal grill. At night, set the kids up with a movie in the star-lit theatre and mix up a few classic cocktails to enjoy with old friends on the terrace. Grab a book from the library, gather around the antique fireplace, or indulge in an effortlessly delicious charcuterie board at the sheltered alfresco table. Exquisitely decorated with a distinct Provençal aesthetic, the interior design scheme features a creamy palette with soft accents, breezy fabrics, and wooden décor; it’s the epitome of understated French elegance. Arched windows and doors allow sunlight to stream in; after dark, dangling chandeliers illuminate the space. From the living room, step outside onto a vast terrace that overlooks the lush gardens. A natural fringe of privacy engulfs the property with olive and fruit trees, pines, cypresses, and manicured hedges scattered about. Even though the walk to town only takes a minute, you still deserve a reward. So, wander the streets of Gordes until you find the perfect cafe to sit down for your morning coffee and a croissant that’s still warm from the oven. Before returning to your 17th-century hillside-home, stop in at a local market, bakery, or cheese shop to pick up an afternoon snack to enjoy on Sunset Villa’s valley-view terrace. Widely considered “the most beautiful hilltop village in Provence,” Gordes is steeped in authenticity. The white and gray stone buildings, of which Sunset is interwoven, wind their way up the hill, creating one of the most postcard-worthy views in Fr1ance. Exposed beams, rugged stone, and wood furniture complete the elegant, Old-World atmosphere inside. Outside, lush greenery from the garden climbs the stonewalls of the terrace providing shade for afternoon naps and privacy during alfresco dinners.
