Felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect, central to everything but quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to great food spots, grocery stores, bath houses, and super accessible to all the sites in Kyoto and public transportation. The inn has a communal vibe, so you have access to a well-stocked big open kitchen with free tea service, and dining area which makes it feel like family at meal times. The heat, water pressure, and wifi worked perfectly. Free access to bikes. Safe and private for solo female travelers like myself. There's even an area with free second-hand clothing in case you need an extra layer. Everyone respects the quiet of the building so it doesn't feel like loud hostel situation. Tadashi was lovely, the perfect host in all the ways- good-humored, helpful, kind, responsive, warm. I can't say enough good things about my stay. I only hope that I can return again very soon.

nice host, provided some cup noodles and local dessert as gift on the first day. This place stood out better than other places I have been before, have amenities that even exceed a normal hotel standards, have small packets of soap, comb, face towels etc etc. endless list

We had a fantastic stay here. The room is spacious and has all the necessary amenities. It's easy to find via Google maps and the host gives very clear instructions. The room itself is a great mix of Western-style (with a bed and sofa) with a Japanese-style living room. It's located pretty close to Shichijo station, where you can easily access a lot of popular tourist spots. There's also buses that allow access to most of the city. First thing to consider, is that getting here requires a 15-20 minute walk from Kyoto station which can be a bit challenging with luggage; buses don't allow large suitcases so walking is the only option. Second, this place is a walk-up and has no elevator so you may have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs. These however are very minor issues and do not take away from how wonderful our stay in Kyoto was. Would 100% come back here on my next visit.

The home was clean a good size for our party of 6. The washing machine/dryer was convenient. It was a great location, close to bus and trains. The river around the corner is a nice place to go for a run. Only thing is that there were not a lot of places to eat close by that could accommodate our group of 6. We would stay again!

Truly a wonderful place to stay! Lots of space and the hosts were very thorough in their instructions for entry.

It was just perfect. The area was lively during the day and then quiet again in the evening. There are two train stations right next door, which makes you very flexible and means you can get into the city quickly. You should be aware that there is a railway crossing nearby that makes a bit of noise, but that wasn't so bad for me. If I lived in Kyoto, I would definitely be very happy living in this apartment. If I come back to Kyoto, I will book the same apartment again.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in Taketo's Gasthaus. Taketo hat sehr viele Empfehlungen für die Umgebung (von Cafés, Restaurant über Einkauf) und ist sehr hilfreich. Die Wohnung war blitzsauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es ist alles vorhanden um sich direkt Zuhause zu fühlen. Nahverkehr gut erreichbar so, dass man in kurzer Zeit im Zentrum von Kyoto aber auch einen Naturausflug an den Biwa See machen kann. Auch der Tempel in der Nähe war einen Besuch wert. Definitiv geeignet für längere Aufenthalte.

Eri-san was really helpful and checked in to make sure everything was comfortable. The area is close by the station while also being far enough from all the chaos of tourists. Although there are tracks nearby, the train passes smoothly without disturbance. It also makes for comfortavle viewing if you enjoy watching trains passing by. There is also a wonderful view of the river from the area which at night illuminates the sky and lighting along the way. The space is good and the surroundings are peaceful, I would like to stay again. Be aware though that due to Kyoto's accomadation tax, it will be 200円 a night extra. That unfortunately is out of the control of the owner and is more so on the local government. Aside from that one drawback, I can definitely reccomend for the stay. Aside from other places that offer a stay and the room feeling stale, the room decor is cozy and feels lively. Full marks for the wonderful space and area. For hosting us, Thank you.

Great place in the heart of kyoto! Walking distance from station and great restaurants as well as a beautiful temple. Place was very clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and smooth. Very responsive and even accommodated late check out! They gave us free drinks in the fridge too!

Great spot in Kyoto! Really enjoyed our stay and this was great home base to come back to every day.

特别值得关注的住宿！虽然樱花季略贵，但是也很不容易订到哈，绝对属于“大隐隐于市”的感觉，交通便利，周边全是各种著名的餐厅，火爆的烧肉店就在隔壁，房屋前后都是樱花、河流、鸭鸟…房间里也是设施完备。最大亮点就是大露台，在这里吃饭、聊天、看风景体验感一流！房东KEN也非常热情细致，还送了小礼物，感谢！

Wonderful stay with extremely helpful host! Luggage transfer to the Airbnb was seamless and Yoshimi helped us with an issue we were having. Lovely to meet her at the Airbnb in person. Loved staying here, Taiyo’s family was so friendly and sweet. Was very helpful and I was also able to luggage forward to my next hotel as she called Yamato transport so they could pick up my luggage. Room was very spacious and had everything I needed. Would highly recommend and next time I’m in Kyoto I would definitely stay here again!!

A lovely place to stay. The area to the north (Gion) was beautiful, though expensive and very full of westerners. The areas to the west and south were simply lovely though. Especially walking along the river and canal at night.

We had a wonderful stay, Seth offered recommendations for the local area and was very responsive to any questions. The house itself was perfect for our stay with older children. The rooftop bath was a beautiful way to finish the day with the Kyoto skyline as my view! Would definitely love to return if we are ever back in Kyoto.

The home was just as described and clean. The location is great, right by the river where we enjoyed morning walks. Close to the train station and easily accessible via taxis as well. Would recommend staying here

Nori and Fumi were absolutely amazing, from the beginning to the end! They even received our luggages ahead of time and picked us up from the train station. The apartment was beyond our expectations; the bed was so comfortable and the biggest one we had in Japan, spacious living space and kitchen. The ability to do laundry was just icing on the cake! Breakfast was served every morning and it was delicious! Nori gave us an option of doing a traditional Japanese or American breakfast at the cool cafe. The location was right outside of the chaos of Kyoto but very close to the train/bus, restaurants, conventions stores, etc. Fumi took us to a local spot every morning and dropped us off closer to where we wanted to be and gave us recs! The experience with Fumi and Nori was just invaluable. We long to come back and visit them as they are just the most wonderful humans! It was great getting to know them and making new friends in Japan; they added so much to our trip. Thank you so much
