This beautiful chalet is away from the hustle and bustle. Peaceful. Beautiful. Serene. Nature all around. The cottage has wifi as well. We cooked a few meals in the kitchen. We had hot water as well to take bath. The beds were clean. Sumith took care of us really well. The highlight of this place is definitely the lake which is a stone throw away. We had a great time taking bath in it. The chalet is in between trees and nature, which adds to the beauty. Peter was super responsive, very very sweet. He was proactive and contacted me multiple times to make us feel at home. This property is highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay with nature. 5 star from me.

Had a great stay at Maadathil Cottages. This property is tucked away in a beautiful part of Varkala away from the hustle and bustle but still with easy access to everything. The cottage was spacious and clean with hot water and a great AC. The view of the sea is simply amazing and it’s just steps away from a sort of private enclosed part of the beach. The food was good and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. The host is very friendly and responsive too. Would definitely stay here again and totally recommend this place. Thank you Mujahir!

This is a lovely spot off the beaten track but well worth the effort. For you kite surfers….its a super place to learn in the lagoon with an easy option (50m) for more advanced to kite in the beautiful open sea. The vibe is chill and yet everyone seemed to progress quickly. Lovely home cooked evening meals.

Skandavan is a great place for travellers seeking some distance from the buzz of auroville. We stayed for 10 days and would have stayed longer had it not been booked. The room has a beautiful color scheme and the dome is a unique feature. It is a good idea to rent a scooter upon arrival, since it is far from the road, the hosts are ready to assist in that. It feels secluded and in the forest, which of course comes with some mosquitoes. It also feels a bit dark in the winter under the large bamboo bushes. The common kitchen has very basic equipment, bring coffee making equipment. The nearby botanical garden offers delicious lunch on weekdays. There is fast wifi in the common room, it does not reach the cabin unfortunately, airtel struggles too. We had a wonderful and peaceful stay and look forward to our next visit. We just spent the most incredible 2 days at Vrihi. The wooden cottage was like a warm hug - cozy, comforting, and surrounded by lush greenery that made us feel like we were in our own little bubble. But the real magic happened because of the people. Dhawal, our property manager, is literally the kindest human being. He welcomed us with such warmth, helped us plan our days, and even sorted out our car rentals. And whenever we had a question or needed help, he was always just a message away. What struck me most was how much Dhawal and the entire Vrihi team genuinely cared about making our stay special. It wasn't just about checking boxes or providing services - it was about making us feel like we were home. If you're looking for a place to unwind, recharge, and feel like you're part of something special, Vrihi is it. We can't wait to come back and experience that magic again.

The place was secluded and peaceful with calming and soothing locations around. It's a bit far from all the viewpoints so if you want to watch all view points then be prepared to travel long distances. The host was a step ahead in providing all the details and was very helpful throughout the entire stay. They had very limited breakfast options but it was good though. It would be better if they maintain a kitchen where we could order the food and they can prepare it as all the restaurants are far away and swiggy isn't providing us with much options. Stay was very peaceful and it was a soothing experience. The care takers took care of everything.The rooms are very clean and are maintained pretty well. There was a private pool and it was well maintained. We had a great stay over here and would recommend this everyone who's looking for a peaceful and secluded staycation.

This place is absolutely incredible! I took my dogs, and they had the time of their lives. Just an hour’s drive away, it’s in the perfect location—beautifully maintained and aesthetically pleasing. There’s a charming little pond, crystal clear and ideal for both dogs and humans to take a dip. Vishnu, the caretaker, was incredibly helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. I’ll definitely be returning!

Visited this place as a short weekend getaway. First off this place is exactly what it seems like, and it’s even better in person. It’s off beat, serene and super quiet. Good visit for anyone who wants to escape the city’s hustle for a while. Karthik has been an incredible host. He is very friendly and accommodating. We had several changes in plans during our stay here, but this was never an issue. Karthik helped us get the most out of our stay here and made sure we had the best experience. He also made us try some local festival dishes during our stay and helped with travel / food recommendations nearby. The property was well maintained and had all amenities one would expect despite being in an isolated location which makes it super convenient. Definitely planning on visiting again for a longer duration. 10 / 10 experience

Amazing place. loved almost everything about it. Only one thing was a negative: The stairs towards the cabin is not made we'll. some steps are too high and some are overgrown. A proper set of stairs with proper hand holds would be nice. it's difficult for elderly people to climb up or down. Another thing I would suggest is to have an induction stove inside and microwave inside. As there are no restaurants nearby. would be nice to cook own food.

A wonderful weekend getaway. It's peaceful, unique and calm. You have privacy and can have a good time chilling in the pool. Although since it's in the middle of farmlands, there may be small insects around that are hard to keep out of the water. Aside from that, there's a functional kitchen and everything is accurately described in the listing. Vivek, the host, is proactive - they kept us informed days in advance, discussed the weather, things to do around, and directions to the exact remote spot and were available promptly for all queries. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend reset near Bangalore.

Beautiful place but A.C is required. it got too hot inside the house. some arrangement for drinking water needs to be made.

Our stay was nothing short of magical ! Nestled just 20 meters from the beach, this charming retreat offers direct access through a private gate, making every sunrise and sunset feel even more special. The warm hospitality of Vikram and Ram made our experience truly delightful—they were always ready to assist with a friendly smile. Freeda’s thoughtful recommendations for nearby shacks and shops added a wonderful touch to our trip. She was always in touch and went out of her way to accommodate us an option for late check-out as our flight was at night. If you’re seeking tranquility by the shore, this is the perfect haven. Would surely come back soon. P.S. people living in other cottages are very friendly!

It has a beautiful view, but the house is compact

The place is awesome exactly as shown in the pics. It’s not the place which made our stay amazing, it was the care taker Sivadas who made it memorable. Shivadas is one awesome proactive care taker available 24/7 for any help. Shivadas and wife Lata have excellent culinary skills you don’t have to find any restaurant for any food. From mutton to dosa everything was finger lickingly tasty. This will be our go to place in Ooty. Thank you Nisha and team!!

Amrit is a great host, very kind guy — He helped me plan a nice surprise proposal for my girlfriend.
