Yuki and her guesthouse are wonderful. I was hiking the Kumano Kodo and Yuki offered to pick me up from Koguchi and drop me off the following morning, a 30-minute drive. On the way she stopped at a supermarket so I could get some groceries as the guesthouse is fairly isolated. The conversation both ways was great, Yuki is a very nice and interesting person. When I arrived at the guesthouse (which was quite spacious and had a lot of amenities considering the price), there was a basket of fresh, homemade bread waiting. The Japanese-style shower was great. I was there in early spring so it wasn't a problem then, but there were mosquito nets over both beds for the summer. Great great great person and stay. Thank you!

A rural retreat, off the tourist path, but easily accessible by train from Tokyo. We were keen for some rural Japan after quite a few stops in urban centres. The house is in a quiet, unspoilt setting. You can do short walks from the house that can include views of Mount Fuji down the valley. There's other places you can pop into too, such as the Owl Cafe or the wonderful deli/shop at the petrol station up the road. The house itself has kept its rustic and traditional appearance and features, while also having very functional equipment, from Wifi to everything you'd need for cooking. Some great places to read and relax in, from the garden to by the wood burner. We did not have car which was fine - it's just 6 minutes by taxi from the station, but a car would allow you to explore further afield. Ryo the host was very helpful with answering questions rapidly and clearly. I would highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous place with very welcoming hosts. We had a great time and we were served delicious dinner and breakfast after we took a bike ride around the neighborhood to see the gorgeous local temples and vistas

We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is adorable and gives you a good feel of Japanese home life. It has everything you could need. It is very walkable to konbini and restaurants. The hikes and nature nearby are lovely. My son and I enjoyed the garden (fun for some no-too-tricky hide and seek!). Would definitely stay here again!

Byron was very friendly and communicative. Met us on arrival and gave helpful instructions about the house, area, and local shops. House was lovely and homey. Great kitchen and bbq, comfy futons, and spacious sleeping areas

Peaceful place super nice surrounding. We checkin a bit late Midori is waiting for us. Lots of good location around only a few minute to strawberry farm that you can go buy a ticket and pick fresh strawberry all you can eat but you have to be there a bit early. Also nice soba homemade shop around. Great location.

The house is with great view of Mount Fuji. You can enjoy the view of different times on the bean bags of the common place. We really enjoyed ourselves during the stay. The host is very responsive. He also provides free shuttle service from the JR station and the free bikes. Very helpful and friendly!

Our stay was incredible. (1) Regarding the hatago itself: in cleanliness, amenities, and attention to detail it is better than half the hotels in Tokyo (e.g., warmed beds, washer and drier, exceptional bathtub, kitchen appliances, high quality speaker, lighting control system). The house is beautifully designed and its system of screen doors provide a beautiful flow of space (e.g., a lovely front corridor drenched in sunlight to sit and read with a mountain view). (2) Lee was a superb host - friendly, so knowledgeable about nature in the area, really helpful. The dinners and breakfast were delicious, inventive, and full of local ingredients. It was so wonderful to interact with the chickens and goats! (3) Regarding the surrounds - perfect! A scenic river right beside, rolling mountain views, Ryujin onsen close by. Overall, 100% recommend and definitely returning again.

Hiro scored 10/10 as a host. He was communicative, friendly, and helpful beyond expectation. I don't imagine our holiday to Japan would have been close to the experience we had without Hiro as a host. He picked us up from the station, provided travel to many local destinations, and provided fantastic suggestions for things to do in the area and beyond. He was a wealth of information about Japanese culture and showed genuine interest in ensuring our experience in Azumino was meaningful and memorable. The guest house was lovely, in a quiet location but walkable access to nearby cafes, and an onsen! One thing I suggest is to hire a car in this area as it is a rural area, and taxis to the station and shopping areas can be quite expensive. Without Hiro to the rescue we would have been a bit stuck. We caught a train and free shuttle bus to the nearest ski resorts which were amazing. If you are looking to experience Japanese life beyond the bustle of Tokyo, a stay here is a must!

距離河口湖開車30分鐘很方便！ 空間很大、可以很多人來玩～～～ 導航會比較難找到、要花一點時間 不過～門口農場的🐑是最明顯的指標 是一次很特別的經驗 有機會會再來玩

me and my family spend two nights here, and it's awesome. would recommend to anyone who's here for the mount Fuji! the view is awesome....

Don’t look anywhere else if you’re looking for a place to stay in this area. From a tourist’s perspective, this is the perfect stay. It’s traditional, spacious, and feature rich. I can’t put into words how beautiful Kohei’s home - and how mindful the design and instructions are. From the fresh drip coffee, to the washing machine! The tub is also magnificent to live out your private onsen experience.

Very lovely place, very friendly host. The kitchen had classical musical playing in the background, and the baths were very high-tech (auto-filling etc). Rooms were very spacious. Would love to stay here again!
