Exactly as pictured, but do keep in mind the 2 upstairs "bedrooms" aren't completely divided by a wall, but rather half a wall and the other half a bamboo divider so you can easily hear the other room. The stairs were quite steep and narrow, so be careful! The location was awesome though, 3 minute walk (if not dragging heavy luggage) from the entrance of Kyoto Station, so extremely convenient! There's a small step to get up to the house, so beware when getting luggage up. Only small comment about the decor - the side with the ?samurai helmet was a bit creepy, but otherwise would recommend!

Lovely stay here, it is a beautiful traditional japanese house. Tastefully decorated with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Near a bus stop and about 10 min walk to the train. Host was easy to communicate with, very helpful and friendly. This place is amazing for the price, would highly recommend, thank you!

A two storey cozy house in a quiet neighbourhood. 5 mins walk to the closest train station and 3 mins walk to bus stop. The host is very responsive and helpful especially about how to get to kyoto from osaka, because it help us save money and worries , as a first timer to japan. Very clear explanation as we were travelling in seven ppl including two little children. Typical japanese home , with tatami setup bed . ( there are also two spring bed)but we all sleep in tatami style. love the stairs , but for us carrying a big heavy luggages to the upstairs , need lots energy. Because it is quite small the aisle. We would love to come back again .

Really pleased with our stay here. Less than 5 minutes walk to the Kyoto station, so easily accessible to all of Kyoto attractions. Comfortable home with all amenities needed. Hide was very responsive to messages and helped where needed. Would stay here again when in Kyoto next.

It was really close to a train station, about five mins away or less, and multiple convenience stores which helped with snacks after long days. Only thing to note is all three rooms are attached, so to get to the third room you must go through the first and second room. It wasn’t an issue for us but might be for those who want privacy. There was a bright exit sign in the first room which was bothersome the first night but we just covered it with a black shirt the next nights and it was fine. Overall would stay again.

The house is really lovely, we stayed for a week with our toddler and omoide went out of her way to provide for us. she even bought a baby gate before our arrival. The cot was big enough for our 20 month old and she had all other baby essentials. The house has a very simple and Japanese style which we loved and it was easy to get around Kyoto from there. The only downsides are if you have lots of luggage there isn't anywhere to store things and there aren't any hooks which can be annoying with wet towels, also the house doesn't get a huge amount of natural light. Omoide has been clever with the lighting in the house so it doesn't feel dark though. Thanks again

Logement un peu juste pour 3 adultes mais très bien situé, proche de tout (sites touristiques, moyens de transport, restaurants, supérettes…), dans une rue très calme. Les propriétaires sont très agréables, et nous ont gentiment mis à disposition des vélos, très pratiques pour se déplacer dans Kyoto. Logement fortement conseillé pour 2 adultes !

We had a lovely stay at this apartment. It was spacious yet cosy, got plenty of light, had a nice street view, was tastefully furnished and fully equiped (we didn’t cool but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped), and spotlessly clean. It was also very convenient to shops, restaurants and public transport, and was a refreshing break from hotel stays. May was very helpful and welcoming (she was even waiting for us on the street when we arrived!).

1000 characters isn't enough to convey how much I enjoyed my stay with Asami & Daniel. They were endlessly kind and pleasant to deal with, gave tons of recommendations for local places (tons of hidden gems away from tourists), and had all of the time in the world for chatting and listening too. They took the time to give multiple bike tours of the surrounding areas and explain the why that things are done, as opposed to a lot of whats, making each one feel like it's own secluded experience. Daniel was kind enough to ferry my bags to and from the station, taking all of the stress out of finding the location. Without a doubt the few days I've spent staying with them will contain my most treasured memories about my Japan trip. The pictures lay it out perfectly, this is not a hotel, so do not expect one. If you are looking for a more traditional, but also unique and deeper experience from your time in Kyoto, I strongly believe you won't find anything better, or better hosts too.

Nos encantó hospedarnos aquí! Es excelente desde la comodidad de la cama hasta lo bien ubicado que está, es una gran opción para viajeros que buscan hospedajes cortos. Las instrucciones para entrar, salir y separar la basura fueron muy claras y los anfitriones estuvieron siempre en constante comunicación. Agradecemos mucho tener la lavadora y espacio en el balcón para secar la ropa. Definitivamente regresaría.

Good location. 6 minutes walk to the near bus stop which go to Gion, Kiyomizudera, and other places. It’s very near Kimono Tea Ceremony Karasuma and Nishiki Market. The room is like a hotel room. Shared Microwave oven and laundry is at the first floor. Doing laundry is a bit challenging, but just need to set your timer if someone is using and set another timer for when your laundry is done. Drying system is in the bathroom, so very convenient. Overall, the unit is good for a short stay. The location is very convenient to explore Kyoto.

It was a pleasure to experience Kyoto from Yukiko’s place. Right above a metro station, quiet but full of options. Wouldn’t hesitate to go there again.

After spending a few nights in a hotel in Tokyo it was great to stay at May’s property which was spacious and met all our needs. May’s husband met us at the property and gave us clear instructions and recommendations for local dining options. It was a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants, Nijo Castle and the Nishiki markets. The property had all the amenities advertised and was great to have washing facilities. Thank you for being great hosts!

El Airbnb superó mis expectativas. Estaba impecable, bien ubicado y con todas las comodidades necesarias. El anfitrión fue muy atento y la comunicación excelente. Las camas eran cómodas, y cada detalle del espacio estaba bien pensado. Sin duda, una opción perfecta para una estancia sin preocupaciones. ¡Lo recomiendo totalmente!

A good stay and a spot that was close to local things and the train station. Will definitely book again for a next trip. Also a responsive host was great to have.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Mr. Izumi’s place. The home was clean, peaceful, and very comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Mr. Izumi is an exceptional host: kind, thoughtful, and always ready to help. He even invited us for breakfast and recommended Rumah Café, where we enjoyed a delicious omelette and incredibly friendly service. His attention to detail and warm hospitality made our stay feel extra special. We really appreciated everything and would absolutely love to return one day. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!

Walkable distance to the shopping street. Had trouble finding the place at first but the host was very fast & responsive. We loved the tatami room. It can fit alot of us & it is pretty comfortable.

民宿地理位置优越，在最热闹的四条，楼下就是说祇园四条站和公交车站，出行非常方便。民宿有电梯，可寄存行李，对于行李多的我们来说简直太方便了。对于房间我们也非常满意，景观非常好，东面可以看日出，西面看日落；卫生间和淋浴房都是两间，所有设备都很齐全都是复数，真的很适合多人入住。之前看评论说顶楼是酒吧可能会有些吵，但我觉得还行而且顶楼的酒吧太棒了，可以边喝酒边眺望鸭川景观绝佳！我觉得民宿唯一的缺点就是灯光过于昏暗，早晨起来化妆有点看不清，但是这不影响我对这家民宿的喜爱，下次有机会还会来订！

A small apartment that had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped and we could do laundry on the small balcony. The communication with the host was fantastic - they were super helpful and responsive. The location was perfect, in a quiet area but close to everything. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we get the chance!

Incredible Airbnb! Seth's place is in the perfect location, near many attractions and restaurants! Right next to the Gion distric and a 10-15 minute walk to the Yasaka Pagoda! There is even a vending machine outside the unit! The unit is very cozy and the beds were probably the most comfortable we've slept on while in Japan! It is very quiet and we slept great! The unit is on the second floor so keep that in mind with luggages. I had no issues bringing our two big bags up! As well Seth is easy to communicate with, check in is easy and he's a great host! Do yourself a favor and rent this place, you won't regret it!
