This cozy home just outside of Kyoto was an amazing place to stay. The hosts are very responsive and super friendly. Not only did they reserve a rental car for us, they even picked us up at the train station, helped us pick up the vehicle, and showed us how to get to their home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to spend time in Kyoto.

We had a wonderful stay here as a 3 generation family. It was beautifully furnished and everything we needed was provided. The beds were very comfortable and we valued there being a blackout blind in the bottom bedroom for the children. We loved the location, with the little river and stone bridge. We were able to access everything either by foot or Higashiyama station. There was a lovely French bakery close by for breakfast. Thank you for a fantastic stay in Kyoto.

Dong was an awesome host. Very responsive to all our needs and solicitous. Very friendly and provided great recommendations for local activities. The airbnb is located in a quiet part of Osaka but still less than 10 minutes from the subway. It's a perfect base for exploring Osaka or going to Kyoto. The airbnb has decent sized living room and bedroom (for Japan). All in all, this airbnb is perfect for small families. I couldn't have asked for a better Osaka Airbnb.

Xin’s home is excellent—convenient and close to Exit 6 of the train station (Exit 11 has an elevator). It’s also near Lawson and FamilyMart, and there’s a public onsen nearby, which is a huge plus! After a long day of walking, stopping by is a must. The accommodation is on the second floor, so the only challenge is carrying luggage up the stairs—they're a bit narrow and steep, so be careful. Inside, the house is comfortable and well-suited for our group of five. The beds are cozy, and every room has air conditioning. However, the common area doesn’t have a heater, so it can get a bit chilly in winter. One major advantage is that there are two bathrooms and a washing machine, making the stay incredibly convenient. Xin is a very responsive host, always quick to answer questions and solve any issues. Even when our group had a minor accident in the house, Xin was kind enough not to charge us extra. I highly recommend this place for larger groups—it’s a great choice!

We had a lovely stay in Otsu at Shizuka’s lovely Japanese house. The place was well appointed with everything one would need right down to a brand new bicycle! While we did not cook a meal while we were there, the kitchen had everything we needed and was well described. Shizuka even brought us a pour over coffee maker when I asked if there was a coffee maker. I didn’t realize there was one already in the kitchen and the next morning she delivered another one. I would highly recommend this place if you want something away from the crowds of Kyoto but still within a short walk and a quick train ride.

Hosts Chie and Iain were wonderful suggesting ways to get around locally as well as gardening tips. Meeting with the chickens each morning then walking along Lake Biwa was a great way to begin the day. The quiet and serene lake setting provided welcome respite from Kyoto, Nara and Osaka hubbub. The house was roomy, comfy and outfitted with latest in high tech appliances. A short walk, then about a 50 minute ride from Hira Station gets you to Kyoto Station, where you can go most anywhere in this part of Japan. We thoroughly enjoyed stay and highly recommend it.

My family will remember this place forever because it's unique. Very Japanese and unlike any hotels we are used to staying in. Would recommend for that purpose. Beautiful little river/canal out front which was surrounded by beautiful Sakura in bloom. Seemed more than spacious for our family of 6.
