Shirley and husband were generous hosts. Super attractive home set up for guests. Room had balcony with view over lush flowering garden. Everything five stars including breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at Shanti's place. The tent is super cozy and has everything you need to get a feeling of luxery while being outside in nature. The river that flows through her garden makes you calm down and the sun deck is perfect to just relax on. We slept like roses in the big comfortable bed and she even had bathrobes hanging which were nice and cozy after using the outdoor shower. Lots of things to do and see around the area to or to just have a coffee or drink. Definitely recommend this place! :)

We had the most wonderful time at Sally’s and Keri’s place. It is located in beautiful surroundings, lots of nature and places to visit the sea and take a walk. The hot tub should win an award for “most beautiful view from a hot tub”. With unmatched hospitality, great breakfast and the friendliest dog we can not recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for having us!

Had a lovely stay with Carol and Geoff. They are very welcoming hosts and the bed is comfortable and the bedroom wonderfully quiet and dark. Such a treat to have fresh fruit from their garden too. Highly recommended!

Helen’s home is truly a hidden gem. We needed somewhere to stay close to Arthur’s Pass, and we are so lucky to have found this place. Our bedroom (and basically any other living area in her home) had an absolutely gorgeous view of the valley and the mountains. While we were there, another couple also was staying at Helen’s home in another bedroom. We all had dinner together that night and shared lots of fun stories. Helen was a great cook! She also made us a delicious breakfast the following morning and was kind enough to work around our early-morning schedule. Helen was not only amazing host, but also a very kind and gracious person. We felt so welcomed into her home almost immediately. I really loved talking to her about her outdoor adventures. She was extremely helpful and gave us suggestions on things to check out at Arthur’s Pass. Thank you so much, Helen, for your amazing hospitality! I wholeheartedly recommend Helen’s place!

Loved the rural environment and old home style at Joanne's place. Room was beautifully decorated with antique style touches. We were treated to muffins or croissants for breakfast with coffee and tea. Hosts were friendly and helpful with suggestions for visiting local spots.

Wir können die Unterkunft voll und ganz empfehlen. Rob hat uns gegen eine angemessene Gebühr vom Flughafen abgeholt und wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Alles war super sauber und gemütlich. Zum Frühstück fehlte es an nichts. Wenn wir nochmal nach Christchurch reisen, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder zu Karen. This was my second stay with Karen. I'm a solo, senior female and her space is ideal. Clean, cozy, perfectly situated and very reasonable. And Karen is a great host. Highly recommend it for a solo female traveller.

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

Unser Aufenthalt bei Michael und Jackie war der würdige Abschluss unseres Urlaubs. Beide sind so herzliche Gastgeber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Jeden Morgen hat Jackie uns das beste Frühstück bereitet. Frische Früchte, Eier, Müsli, Juice und noch viel mehr. Wir durften ihre tolle Küche mit benutzen. Diese Unterkunft ist absolut empfehlenswert.

Jill takes great pride in the Catlins Retreat and it shows. We were made extremely welcome on arrival and felt right at home. The building is one of the older homes in Owaka and has been carefully decorated and furnished to match its period and is very comfortable. Moreover, everything was absolutely spotless. Jill is a knowledgeable host, able to give advice on where to go and what to see in one of New Zealand’s best kept secrets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back there in a heartbeat.

Just when I thought our Airbnb experiences could not be beaten there was Colleen and Trevor. They made us feel like family whilst still retaining discreet sensitivity to our privacy. Nothing was too much effort. Home baked goodies too! Beautiful Lilly the dog has been well trained to offer you as much or as little attention as you would like. We could not rate this stay more highly and hope to meet up with Colleen and Trevor again one day.

A Truly Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! This is such a lovely and cozy cottage! The space is beautifully maintained, both inside and out, and the host is incredibly kind and thoughtful. Upon arrival, I was greeted with snacks, and the mornings were made even better with delicious, carefully prepared breakfasts. The attention to detail was outstanding—everything was perfect! The house also offers stunning views, making it an ideal choice for a peaceful and memorable getaway. Without a doubt, this was one of my best stays ever. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

Charmaine is a lovely host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She showed me around, pointing out where the ferry departs, where the stores are, and how to get to the pool, and she even waited for me to arrive. She provided all the essentials — coffee, tea, bread, jam, butter, milk, cereal, and some veggies — which was very thoughtful. The house itself is more than great! The decoration is beautiful, with cozy sofas and spacious rooms that look like they belong in a catalog. I had the option to choose which room I wanted, which was a nice touch. From the porch, living room, and my room, I had a stunning view of the ocean and the port. It was lovely sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The location is perfect — only one block away from shops, restaurants, and an organic food store and very close to the walking path to the Gondola, which is just a 40-minute walk from the house. I highly recommend Charmaine’s place! ❤️

Our stay at view with a room was stellar! Shirley is an extremely thoughtful host. She has everything you could possibly think to need with some very thoughtful touches such as freshly laid eggs that were left for us. The accommodation was impeccably clean and so well thought out. Modern bathroom, nice lighting. Beautiful views in a peaceful and serene setting. We walked at low tide to see the starfish, what a fun adventure! Shirley has a tide chart printed so you can time it just right. We loved our time at view with a room and highly highly recommend staying here. Thank you again Shirley!

Kay's place is so amazing and comfortable, you will feel right at home! And Kay is probably the best host we ever had, so friendly and helpful, with amazing tips. The breakfast was fantastic! We absolutely loved the time we spend there, we felt like we were home.
