Abruzzes, Italie

When deciding whether to become a Host on Airbnb in Italy, it is important for you to understand the laws in your region or city. As a platform and online marketplace we do not provide legal advice, but we want to provide resources that may help you better understand applicable laws and regulations. This list is not exhaustive, but it may give you a good start in understanding your local laws.

There are three requirements for the Abruzzo region that are applicable, whether you are a professional Host or an individual, to tourist rentals with contracts not exceeding 30 days—Structural requirements, Regional Identification Code (CIR), and reporting tourist data. Visit the Italy national page for more resources to understand the national laws in your country.

Structural requirements

Before starting, you must make sure that your property has kitchen and sanitary facilities and the typical equipment of a civil dwelling, including the provision of linen and room cleaning services.

You can rent out a maximum of 4 residential units for tourist purposes (ex: flats and self-contained villas) and not individual rooms.

Note: Tourist rentals can be managed in a direct non-business form, without organization in the form of a company.

Regional Identification Code (CIR) and reporting tourist data

Register on SITRA—Tourist Information System (Sistema Informativo Turistico) of the Abruzzo Region—for the release of the Regional Identification Code (CIR) and the communication of tourist flows.

To do this, please use the following form and send it to dph002@regione.abruzzo.it.

Even in the case of no overnight stays, you must report tourist flows via SITRA within the first 10 days of the month.

You must display the CIR in all online and offline promotional activity for your accommodation. You must display the CIR outside the building where your accommodation is located.

For more information, please consult the website of the region.

Difference between tourist rentals and holiday homes and apartments (aka CAVs)

Please note that tourist rental is different from extra-hotel facilities (ex: CAVs, guest houses, etc.) for which regional legislation provides several other obligations (ex: SCIA).
